Yoga Lee Teacher Training Program

Why Train with Yoga Lee?

Our Yoga Lee Teacher Training isn’t the “one size fits all” generic yoga training that you might find at other programs. It’s not just about learning the poses; anyone can teach you Downward Dog.  It’s a holistic approach that is grounded in science and soul. We want you to be able to find both the community and individuality in your yoga teaching, to find the person behind the practice. Our carefully curated, year-long training journey is led by a team with diverse expertise—rooted in science, creativity, and ritual.

Our 200 Hour Training is 95% In-Person at our studio in Lee, MA. It is a small, local, year-long immersion for the curious, passionate, and community-minded seeker who is ready to step into the role of yoga teacher—or simply deepen their practice. Together, we will explore yoga through the lens of modern science, ancient wisdom, and creative exploration.

Meet Your Teachers!

Dr. Kerry McGinn, DPT, E-RYT 500+: Kerry holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2018. She has studied yoga for TBIs, Somatics, Nervous System regulation, and neuroscience/brain health. Additionally she has supplemental studies in the lymphatic system, myofascial work and so much more. As a movement educator with deep expertise in anatomy, neurology, fascia, Kerry blends science and spirituality to help you understand the body in a way that transforms how you move, practice, and teach.

Candace Cihocki-Ahern, RYT: Candace is a seasoned Movement Arts Educator and Embodiment Coach with over 20 years of experience in dance, theatre, public speaking and fitness. She will help you embody moving past technical instruction and fully step into your authentic confidence with a commanding gentle presence allowing you to be present, adaptable, and sincere with practitioners. Drawing on her multidisciplinary Trauma-Informed background (Vinyasa, Somatics, Mindfulness, Partner Yoga, Pilates and more) and a MFA in Theatre, Candace will help you master cueing, and connect you to your innate physical intelligence, encouraging you to find the courage and creative curiosity necessary to step into your most powerful teaching self, because the art of teaching goes beyond alignment and theory to something much deeper that is unique to just you.

Sarah Brianna Smith: Sarah has a background as a Trauma-Informed Energy Healer and Yoga & Meditation Teacher. Some of her areas of expertise are Trauma-Informed Kundalini Yoga, Yoga for Enneagram, Tibetan Buddhist Meditation, Trauma-Informed Vinyasa, Kundalini Rebirthing, Yin Yoga, Ayurveda, Yoga Nidra, and Prenatal Yoga. On top of that, she’s also got advanced certifications and apprenticeships in Energy Healing, Reiki and Shamanism. Sarah is an Ayurvedic practitioner who weaves ritual, seasonal wisdom, and energetic practices into the training, adding depth and soul to your journey.

What Will You Learn At Our YTT?

How To Find Your Voice as a Teacher
At Yoga Lee we emphasize building an authentic presence. You’ll receive support in public speaking, sequencing, and teaching practice, and leave not just with a certificate—but with the confidence to lead from your heart

Trauma-Aware Teaching Practices
We honor that “trauma-informed” is a specific training. While Sarah does hold a “trauma-informed” certification, our program is NOT “trauma-informed.” However it IS  trauma-aware: we will explore what trauma-informed yoga is, why it matters, and how you can create safer spaces where students feel seen and respected to the best of your ability.

Hands-On Learning
From giving and receiving hands-on assists to exploring sequencing in real-time, you’ll embody your learning through direct, in-person practice.

How to Ground Your Practice In The Body & Nervous System
Gain an understanding of fascia, nervous system regulation, and functional anatomy that will change how you move, practice, and teach.

Community & Mentorship
We believe community is everything. Train in a small, supportive group at our Berkshire studio, where your growth is witnessed and celebrated. You’ll have:

  • A Yoga Lee mentor outside of YTT for additional support

  • A YTT buddy or group for peer connection

  • Listening partnerships to build resilience, empathy, and trust

  • A cohort that grows together over the year—becoming lifelong allies in your teaching journey

Root to Rise Foundation

Our YTT is vinyasa-based, but you’ll graduate with the skills and knowledge to teach multiple styles of yoga: slow flow, power, restorative, and more. You’ll leave confident in leading the Yoga Lee signature “Root to Rise Flow”—a class that embodies creativity, accessibility, and connection.

Upon completion, you’ll graduate as a Yoga Alliance–approved 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200).
