Pelvic Floor 101

Pelvic Floor 101: Supporting Strength and Ease

Leaking when you laugh or run. Pelvic pain. A sense of heaviness or tension you can’t quite explain. Confusion about whether you should be “strengthening” or “relaxing.”

This introductory workshop is designed to take the mystery and shame out of pelvic floor health and replace it with understanding, choice, and practical tools you can actually use.

In this 2-hour experience at Yoga Lee, we’ll explore how the pelvic floor works as part of your whole system including breath, posture, movement, and nervous system tone. You’ll learn why tight doesn’t always mean strong, why “just do Kegels” isn’t the answer for everyone, and how yoga can either support or aggravate symptoms depending on how it’s practiced.

Expect a blend of clear, accessible education and gentle, yoga-informed movement. No internal work. No medical exams. Just evidence-informed guidance, embodied practice, and space for questions.

You'll Learn:

  • What the pelvic floor actually does and why it matters

  • How breath and pressure management affect symptoms

  • Common myths that keep people stuck

  • Simple practices to support strength and ease

  • How to know when yoga helps and when you may need additional support

This Workshop Is For:

  • Anyone curious about pelvic floor health

  • People experiencing leaking, pain, tension, or heaviness

  • Postpartum and perimenopausal bodies

  • Active humans, athletes, and yoga students

  • Anyone who wants a better relationship with their core beyond aesthetics

This Workshop is NOT:

  • A medical evaluation or diagnosis

  • Internal pelvic floor work

  • One-size-fits-all advice

You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of your body, practical tools for daily life, and reassurance that your symptoms make sense and are not a personal failure.
