What to Expect in Your First Yoga Class

Welcome to Yoga Lee: A place of community, healing and connection

As a new studio, we want to prepare you with all the details so you can attend your first class stress free. This is our go to guide for all things you can expect when you join the Yoga Lee Studio Community.

First and foremost, location. Anyone else get stressed out by ambiguous parking? Or is that just us?

Yoga Lee is located right on Main Street in Lee, Massachusetts, commonly referred to as The Gateway to the Berkshires. Lee is a beautiful small town with lots of hometown pride, kind people and yummy food. Yoga Lee is lucky to be situated between Bella Soul Hair Salon and Alpamayo Restaurant. Another bonus— there is plenty of FREE parking. There are TWO municipal lots available to park in— one is behind the studio with an entrance on High Street and Franklin Street and another across the street on Railroad street. There is also plenty of street parking directly in front of the studio entrance.

Second, class sign up. If you have never been to the studio before, we recommend you create an account in Momence before arriving at the studio. This leaves you extra time to settle and enjoy our beautiful yoga sanctuary.

At this moment, we do not require pre-registration for classes but we STRONGLY recommend it. Pre registration guarantees that you have a spot in your class and lets the teacher know you are coming. Life happens and if you are running late, our teachers can know that you are coming and leave the door open for you a moment longer if needed:)

If you do not sign up in advance, we will have an tablet where you can sign up OR you can sign with a Yoga Lee staff member upon your arrival. If you have not created a Momence account and/or have not signed up for class yet, we ask you arrive 5-10 minutes early to give you and our teachers plenty of time to sign you up before class.

Then, you arrive at the studio.

Our doors are open 15-20 minutes before class so you can come in and get settled before starting your practice. From the moment you walk in the door you will be wrapped in a warm coziness that will continue as you head into our practice space. Walk through our doors at 62 Main Street and step into our welcoming reception area. Here you will find our reception desk with a Yoga Lee Staff, water fountain, seating area, tea station, shoe storage, coat rack and small retail shop featuring local artisans & herbalists, Yoga Lee swag and some of our favorite wellness brands.

We have a free tea station that you can use before or after class and a lending library if you want to cozy up with a good book for a moment before class.

Our bathroom is located inside the studio doors for students to use.

When you walk in, check in with Yoga Lee staff or on the tablet easily accessible for your use, ditch your shoes and store your belongings. Studio doors will be locked during class so your belongings are safe. With that said, studio doors will remain unlocked for 5 minutes after class start time so if you are running late, please don’t stress, there is a small grace period.

We do offer $2 mat rentals. Mat rentals are also included with all monthly memberships, two week unlimited new student specials and yearly memberships. If you are looking for a mat rental, please ask a Yoga Lee teacher or staff member.

Then, you enter our beautiful studio.

Our studio is designed to be a healing sanctuary, a home away from home that wraps you in a warm hug and invites you in. With warm lights, beautiful brick and rich forest colors, we invite you to step up your mat, grab as many props you need and settle in. For larger classes, teachers and Yoga Lee Staff will direct you where to set up your mats so everyone has the space they need and deserve. If at any point, you have an questions or concerns, ask a Yoga Lee Staff member. We are lucky to have amazing humans on our team who are happy to help at any moment.

Class Starts…

Class starts promptly on time and ends promptly on time. We recognize that you are busy people will full lives. Occasionally, class might go over but it is policy at Yoga Lee that class starts and ends no more than 5 minutes after it’s scheduled time to do so. We value your time and we value you.

If you are running late, we ask that you come in quietly and mindfully of other students practice and space.

Enjoy class— take what you need and leave the rest behind. Our wonderful and talented teachers will guide you through a flow as described in class sign ups. With that said, we are firm believers that this is YOUR time and YOUR practice. Do what you need, when you need it. One of the most beautiful parts of a yoga practice is learning and figuring out what you need on that exact day.

All our classes end with a wonderful, blissful savasanna to integrate the experience and give you a few moments of peace and quiet in your full day.

Class ends..

Take your time to re-enter the outside world and take a moment for a breath. We kindly ask that you wipe down all props you use with the cleaner found in the studio.

After class, if you’d like to hang out, shop in our retail space or have a cup of tea… please do!

Our aim at Yoga Lee is to truly create a space of community, healing and connection. This studio is for YOU- for you to find peace, solace and calm in a crazy world. A space for you to be you and to learn more about you.

If any point in our journey at Yoga Lee you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to us at info@yogaleestudio.com, on instagram @yogaleestudio or pop a recommendation in our review box at the front desk.
